This week's episode was both heartbreaking and heartwarming with Lindsay Miller!

Lindsay is incredibly open and vulnerable in sharing the story of her devastating struggles and how it led her to the amazing place she is in now.

How did Lindsay dig her way out from rock bottom, when she literally didn't have the strength to pick up her 3-year-old daughter?

We talk about that and more in this episode.

I enjoy all of my interviews, but this one was particularly touching.

Lindsay Miller is known for her talent show suitcase tricks and infectious laugh. When she's not playing catch with her daughter or rollerblading on local trails with her husband, you can find her using her 20+ years of child development study and mindfulness certification to dream up new ways to get kids excited about mindfulness.

She hosts the Stress Nanny Podcast and is the enthusiastic founder of thestressnanny.com.  Her goal at The Stress Nanny is to give parents and kids simple ways to communicate their needs during everyday moments and in stressful situations like family conflict, divorce, illness, infertility and loss. Lindsay believes that mindful communication is an essential skill for modern families.

With families facing epic levels of stress and kids experiencing alarming levels of anxiety, we need more ways to help kids feel safe and happy. About 3 years ago I founded Kids Mindfulness Coaching and I would love to share the benefits of this simple and effective practice with you and your audience.

Kids Mindfulness Coaching is all about building emotional intelligence skills like empathy, self-awareness, resilience and problem solving.

Parents and caregivers can coach their kids in mindfulness using everyday stories and easy-to-understand analogies like the thought river and the empathy flashlight. When families practice mindfulness at home they deepen relationships and increase calm and confidence.

The tools I share are easy to implement and help parents and kids practice the three keys of mindfulness:

Figure out what's going on inside you (emotions, thoughts, beliefs)
Figure out what's going on outside you (relationships, context)
Make a choice on purpose

Families will be able to implement these ideas immediately to help kids process anxiety, anger, fear, stress and grief. The result is that kids go from frazzled to fun-loving.
